As part of the Women's March, the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers celebrated the many women overturning the patriarchy by way of the sciences, public policy, humanitarian efforts, entertainment industry, and more.
Education not Deportation
As faculty at the Los Rios Colleges in Sacramento, I created this poster to support the DACA program and the many affected by the fear of deportation. This includes faculty colleagues and students. The fence represents many things: the US vs. THEM our government tries to institutionalize, the challenges students face—they can see success but have obstacles in the way—and the damaged portion of the fence ironically represents hope, a dismantling of a barrier.
