Black Eyes
In this collage, I used a monoprint background and a pair of pleading eyes to evoke a sense of empathy and urgency to vote this November. I chose eyes that would awaken us to all the racial injustice and discrimination we have witnessed towards people of color in this country.
Against the Blue
Against the Blue is my way of representing the worsening injustice at the foundation of our criminal justice system. The myth of a calm "blue life" is contrasted with the chaos and unpredictability in the lives of black Americans.
Obstacles
The boulders in Obstacles represent the innumerable obstacles and challenges that people of color have to endure in their daily lives, from housing to education, from jobs to police brutality.
