Feather Foot
Lately, I have been noticing that birds are falling from the sky. During my walks near the U.S.-Mexico border between El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, I find dead birds on the sidewalk. Their soft bodies are still warm and intact. I make altars for them. Sometimes I find only their wings. When I came across this wing I had to take my shoes off. I felt that the bird's wing and my feet were reflections of each other. I felt hurt to find a broken wing on the sidewalk. I don't know what is in our environment that is causing birds to fall from the sky, but once birds begin to fall from the sky we better start listening to what Madre Tierra has been telling us for a very very long time.
